1. Capturing and Optimally using Unstructured Information
   Traditionally, product managers have determined competitiveness by comparing product specification sheets and compiling focus group feedback. Today, the web channel has substantially increased the sample size for feedback... Working with partners, Infosys has developed tools that can mine the web. For example, CNET's camera reviews, Amazon.com customer comments, and blog comments for digital cameras. With this tool, a product manager can now compare cameras on pre-defined parameters such as megapixels and battery life. Moreover, the manager can also explore new parameters that the company had not thought of earlier. For instance, does the camera fit into a pocket?
   
   The Infosys tool helps companies get real-time information for rapid decision-making and greater sample size for consumer feedback.

2. Building Analytics and Information Stewardship Capabilities
   A telecom company captured US$ 60 million in revenue leakage by investing in information stewardship and analysis. To prevent revenue leakage, Infosys set up a dedicated team to continuously cleanse data, analyze billing... and provisioning, and reconcile revenue. This team is based in India to minimize costs.

   One of Infosys' telecom OEM clients doubled production and tripled shipment through a combination of workflow redesign and systems enhancements. Infosys streamlined workflow, instituted work material sharing to reduce inventory fragmentation, and introduced a system of "checks and balances" for exception management. Visibility of inventory enabled managers to track inventory at all locations, and take informed decisions on availability, movement and handling of material.

3. Facilitating Seamless Flow of Information across Boundaries
   A casino stimulated demand by understanding its customers better. Infosys helped it develop applications to analyze customer behavior for an information-intensive rewards program. The success of the rewards program... helped the company post significantly better results and achieve a growth rate well above the industry average.

   Infosys helped a consumer electronics company increase working capital efficiency and collect inventory payment faster by integrating client systems with Wal-Mart's Retail Link™ systems. The application retrieved data from Retail Link™ and integrated it with the client's outbound shipment information to match manufacturer-shipped data with retailer-received information, enabling faster reconciliation of invoices. The application dramatically improved the speed and accuracy of the invoice verification process between the client and Wal-Mart, enabling faster payment collections. It also helped reduce the costs associated with invoice reconciliation and avoided incorrect charge-backs - all adding to higher working capital efficiencies.
